What's with the name?

A little while after we decided to go into business together, we sat down at the kitchen table with our husbands and had a brainstorming session to help us come up with a name- something fun that didn't seem to take itself too seriously, but also romantic, and of course, memorable. As we shot out suggestions, a thought came to mind: the Spanish expression for soul mate.

One of our very best friends lives in Madrid, Spain, and she once mentioned that in Spanish culture, the term for soul mate was "la media naranja," meaning, half orange. The phrase describes how two halves become whole once they are together, and each considers the other to be the better half- the missing piece.

When we are not working, you can probably find us kayaking on Town Lake, at the dog park with our respective pets, Clive and Roux, or most likely, trying a new place to eat with our wonderful husbands.
